Cole Macedo Dominates NARC 410 Sprint Car Series Asparagus Cup at the Stockton Dirt Track

(April 6, 2024) Stockton, CA – Cole Macedo kicked off the NARC 410 Sprint Car Series season in sensational fashion, securing his second consecutive victory in a curfew-shortened Asparagus Cup at the newly reconfigured Stockton Dirt Track. Driving the #21 Maxim for car owners Tom and Tommy Tarlton, Macedo led all 27 laps of the event, showcasing his dominance on the track.

Expressing his joy in victory lane, Macedo attributed his success to the exceptional performance of his team. “I’d rather be lucky than good any day as long as I get a check like this,” he exclaimed. “Luckily, Drew (Warner, crew chief) and the guys gave me such a good car.”

Starting from the outside front row, Macedo wasted no time in asserting his authority, swiftly surpassing polesitter D.J. Netto to claim the lead on the opening lap. Throughout the race, Macedo faced numerous caution periods, requiring impeccable restarts to maintain his position at the front of the pack.

Despite encountering lapped traffic on two occasions, Macedo managed to navigate the challenges seamlessly, benefiting from timely cautions that allowed him to maintain his lead. With three restarts in the latter stages of the race, Macedo remained composed, fending off all challengers to secure his third career NARC 410 Sprint Car Series victory.

Reflecting on the intense competition, Macedo acknowledged the pressure of late-race restarts but remained focused on executing his strategy. “I knew if I got off the bottom, I was probably going to get passed,” he admitted. “But after a lap or two, I could get into a rhythm and get my gap.”

Justin Sanders, starting from eighth, staged a remarkable comeback in the latter part of the race, clinching the runner-up position in the #2X Maxim. Tanner Carrick secured third place, marking his first NARC podium since 2022.

Chase Johnson and Nick Parker rounded out the top five, with Johnson battling fiercely from tenth position to secure fourth place, while Parker achieved a career-best fifth place finish.

Notable performances included Kaleb Montgomery’s impressive climb from 20th to sixth, earning him the Williams Roofing Hardcharger honors, and Bud Kaeding’s recovery from an early spin to finish seventh.

The event also witnessed Colby Copeland, Shane Golobic, Dominic Gorden, and Landon Brooks involved in incidents, with all drivers escaping unharmed.

Macedo’s stellar performance was further highlighted by his fastest time in ARP Qualifying, solidifying his status as a force to be reckoned with in the NARC 410 Sprint Car Series.

In addition to Macedo’s triumph, Bud Kaeding, Joey Ancona, Netto, and Willie Croft secured heat race victories, with Netto emerging victorious in the Beacon Wealth Strategies Trophy Dash.
