Day Scores First High Limit Racing win at RPM Speedway

(April 14, 2024) Crandall, TX – For over two years, the anticipation surrounding Corey Day’s trajectory has been steadily mounting. Remarkably, he consistently lives up to the expectations placed upon him.

This past Sunday, amidst the roar of engines at RPM Speedway in Crandall, TX, the 18-year-old prodigy clinched his maiden victory with Kubota High Limit Racing, marking his ninth attempt with the budding series. And he achieved this feat in truly spectacular fashion.

Initially starting from the fourth position, Day momentarily slipped to fifth. However, drawing upon his expertise gained from competing in bullrings back home in Clovis, California, he surged forward, piloting the Jason Meyers Racing, Sander Engineering #14 machine to the forefront. While many competitors opted for the low line, Day steadfastly hugged the high side, demonstrating his unwavering commitment.

In a breathtaking display of skill, Day maneuvered around Brad Sweet to claim fourth place on Lap 19. With unwavering determination, he swiftly overtook Jacob Allen for third on Lap 21, then surged past Anthony Macri for second on Lap 25. Finally, on Lap 29, he executed a daring move around Kerry Madsen to seize the lead, clocking his fastest lap of the race at an impressive 12.948 seconds.

Maintaining his momentum, Day maintained control of the race, navigating around the outer edge with finesse until he reached the checkered flag, securing his inaugural victory with Kubota High Limit Racing. Notably, Day’s triumph marks the fifth different winner in the opening six races of the 2024 season.

Following Day’s commanding performance, Australian driver Kerry Madsen piloted Brandon Ikenberry’s #25 machine to a respectable second-place finish. Jacob Allen showcased remarkable resilience, rallying on the final restart to secure third place, consequently securing the fifth and final points position for a High Stakes Charter.

Rounding out the top five were Anthony Macri and Brad Sweet, with James McFadden, Tyler Courtney, Zeb Wise, Brent Marks, and Spencer Bayston completing the top ten.

Notable highlights include Brad Sweet claiming the Capitol Custom Trailers QuickTime award with a blistering lap of 12.245 seconds. Kerry Madsen emerged victorious in the TJ Forged Heat One, while Spencer Bayston triumphed in the DMI Heat Two. Anthony Macri dominated the BR Motorsports Heat Three, with Corey Day showcasing his prowess by clinching the Winters Performance Heat Four. Kerry Madsen secured victory in the FK Rod Ends Dash, while Ryan Timms emerged triumphant in the B-Main.

Acknowledging outstanding performances, Ryan Timms was awarded the Hard Charger title, advancing an impressive 10 positions from 21st to 11th. Lap leadership was shared between Kerry Madsen and Corey Day, with Madsen leading the initial 29 laps and Day commanding the final six.

The A Feature (35 Laps) concluded with Corey Day emerging victorious, followed by Kerry Madsen in second and Jacob Allen in third.

Looking ahead, Kubota High Limit Racing prepares for the Midweek Money Series, commencing on Tuesday, April 16 at Red Dirt Raceway in Meeker, Oklahoma. The highly anticipated event, presented by the Rudeen Development in conjunction with the Rayce Rudeen Foundation, promises thrilling racing action with a $20,000-to-win prize and $1,500-to-start.
