(April 6, 2024) Nichols, SC – Ethan Wilson, hailing from Fayetteville, N.C., proved unstoppable as he dominated Saturday’s Ultimate Southeast Series-sanctioned Coastal Clash at Fayetteville Motor Speedway, clinching the $6,000 top prize. Wilson, who also secured the fast qualifier and pole position, led all 40 laps of the feature race, finishing a remarkable 6.534 seconds ahead of Gray Parton.
Reflecting on his victory, Wilson expressed his satisfaction with his performance and the performance of his car. He credited his hard-working team for their efforts in preparing the car, emphasizing the excellent handling and speed on the track.
This victory marks Wilson’s second career series triumph, with his previous win dating back to August 28, 2021, at Friendship Motor Speedway. Reigning Ultimate Southeast Series champion Willie Milliken of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., made his debut in the Rum Runner Motorsports entry and secured a respectable third-place finish. Jeff Smith also put on a strong performance, improving three positions to round out the top five.
Notable performances include Milliken’s impressive run from 10th to third place, showcasing his skill and determination on the track.
Wilson’s Longhorn Chassis, backed by sponsors such as Dixie Turf and Hoosier Tire, played a crucial role in his victory, demonstrating the importance of strong partnerships in motorsports.
In the points chase after the Lake View race, Christian Thomas leads the standings with 63 points, closely followed by Gray Parton and Ben Watkins tied at 62 points each.
The main event lasted 14 minutes, with seven drivers completing the distance, highlighting the intense competition on the track. Fans can anticipate more exciting action as the series returns to Lake View on August 10 for another $5,000-to-win event.
The next series race is scheduled for April 20 at Ultimate Motorsports Park in Elkin, N.C., offering a $7,500 prize.
