Lucas Lee Dominates Fourth Career Summit Modified Nationals Win at Clarksville Speedway

(July 6, 2024) Clarksville, TN – Lucas Lee secured his fourth career DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals victory at Clarksville Speedway on Saturday night. The Paris, TN native led all 25 laps of the main event, holding off challenges from Friday night winner Trent Young and current points leader Trevor Neville.

Track Familiarity

Lee attributed his success to his familiarity with the track, which has played a significant role in his racing career. “When I was 15 years old this was the first place I ever came to race,” Lee said. “I’ve got a lot of laps around here and that matters a lot. We grew up with a lot of competition at this racetrack and that plays a big part of it because I know where to run and not to run and that’s a big advantage.”

Race Highlights

Starting from the outside pole, Lee quickly took the lead on Lap 1, using the high side of the 1/4-mile oval. Throughout the race, he faced three restarts with both Young and Neville close behind. Each time, Lee managed to get the jump he needed to maintain his lead. Despite their efforts, neither Young nor Neville could catch Lee, who secured his first Summit Modified win of the year.

Comments from the Winner

“This is my backyard they’re playing in,” Lee said. “It’s usually the man that starts on the pole here so I was glad I could run in there and get down. I wasn’t really in concern any.”

Upcoming Events

The Summit Modifieds continue Week 4 action on Sunday, July 7, at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, IN. Tickets will be available at the gate. If you can’t attend, watch every lap live on DIRTVision.
