(April 13, 2024) Fort Worth, TX – The highly anticipated Uncle Chicken’s Sippin’ Whiskey Stockyard Stampede, presented by Whiskey Myers, unfolded in thrilling fashion on Saturday night as Kubota High Limit Racing made its debut at the renowned Texas Motor Speedway.
The 30-lap A-Main race delivered an electrifying spectacle, characterized by three different leaders and four lead changes, captivating the packed crowd with an intense showdown between second-row starters Tyler Courtney and Anthony Macri.
The showdown commenced with Pennsylvania’s finest taking the front row, with Jacob Allen’s Shark Racing #1A and Brent Marks’ Murray-Marks Motorsports #19 leading the charge as the green flag waved. Allen dominated the initial seven circuits until “Sunshine” Courtney mounted his attack, seizing the lead on Lap 9 amidst challenging lap traffic.
Courtney, piloting the Clauson-Marshall Racing, NOS Energy Drink #7BC, dictated the pace until Dillsburg native Anthony Macri surged ahead on the final restarts.
Macri surged into the lead on Lap 22, only for Courtney to wrestle it back on Lap 23. However, Macri’s resilience shone through as he reclaimed the lead on Lap 24, igniting a gripping battle that had the crowd on their feet until the very end.
In the end, it was the #39M machine that held firm for the remaining six laps, clinching a $12,000 victory at the Texas Motor Speedway and earning Macri the prestigious cowboy hat for his fourth triumph of the year.
Macri’s victory adds his name to the list of winners in the young Kubota High Limit Racing series, joining the ranks of Rico Abreu (4), Kyle Larson (4), and Tyler Courtney (2) as the only multi-time winners thus far.
Tyler Courtney, hailing from Indianapolis, IN, secured the runner-up position, marking his fourth consecutive top-two finish and extending the early-season lead of the CMR group over Brad Sweet in the pursuit of the Kubota High Limit Racing championship.
“The Big Cat” Brad Sweet rounded out the podium, claiming his second top-three finish of the season aboard the Kasey Kahne Racing, NAPA Auto Parts #49.
