(April 6, 2024) Harrisburg, AR – In an electrifying display of racing prowess, Morgan Bagley of Longview, Texas, powered underneath B.J. Robinson on lap 23 to snatch the lead and dominate the remainder of Saturday’s 40-lap Comp Cams Super Dirt Series-sanctioned Cow Patty at Old No. 1 Speedway. Bagley’s stellar performance earned him a well-deserved $5,000 paycheck and marked his seventh career series win, his first since Sept. 2, 2022, at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway in Paragould, Ark.
Reflecting on his victory, Bagley expressed his satisfaction, saying, “Ever since Arrowhead and Springfield and last night, things have been clicking.” He also shared his journey at the Speedway, remarking, “Man, it’s funny because the first handful of times I came here I struggled really bad, and then I got better, and man, we’ve been so good here every time and I felt like this might be our chance to win one.”
The race was not without its drama, with Matt Cooper salvaging a seventh-place finish after a last-lap slip-off while attempting to challenge Bagley for the lead. Bagley himself faced a moment of uncertainty as he lapped Bryan Glaze off turn four, allowing Cooper to make an inside bid through turns one and two before ultimately running out of room on the backstretch.
Logan Martin of West Plains, Mo., emerged as the runner-up after benefiting from Cooper’s miscue, while Chandler Petty, who led laps 1-5, settled for a fourth-place finish.
Bagley’s winning ride, a Rocket Chassis powered by a Clements Racing Engine, is proudly sponsored by Precision Trailers LLC, P&W Sales and Ironworks, and a host of other supporters.
In the points chase after Old No. 1, Logan Martin leads with 401 points, followed closely by Bagley with 385 points and Kyle Beard with 338 points.
Under a sky with few clouds and a comfortable 59°F temperature, 33 cars competed in the event. Chandler Petty clinched fast qualifier of the night. Petty went on to win his heat race, clinching him the pole position. Morgan Bagley, B.J. Robinson and Matt Cooper also secured heat race wins.
The next series race is scheduled for May 4 at Riverside Int’l Speedway in West Memphis, AR, offering another opportunity for drivers to compete for a $5,000 payday and showcasing more thrilling Comp Cams Super Dirt Series action.
