(April 12, 2024) Farmer City – IL Nick Hoffman lives up to the nickname hype of “The Thrill From Mooresville” with a thrill of a finish including Bobby Pierce at the opening night of the Illini 100.
Hoffman dominated all night with setting the quickest time in qualifying of 12.395 and winning his heat race. Cade Dillard won the pole award in the redraw for the feature.
Hoffman had passed Dillard for the lead at the second lap.
It was a caution free race for 30 laps until two cautions came out with 10 laps to go. Bobby Pierce was behind him on the restart, we all knew it was going to get interesting because Pierce is known to throw those winning sliders. Hoffman slipped up and opened up the door for Pierce in Turns 3 and 4, seen in the image below Pierce is sideways coming across the line and Hoffman was up on the very outer side of the track. The scoring loop timed Hoffman across the line first, granting him the win by 0.072 seconds and a $10,000 payday at Farmer City Raceway! This would be Hoffman’s first win at Farmer City, his third win with the World of Outlaw Late Models and second win this year so far!
Other notable drivers from the event would be Chris Madden scoring the Fox Factory Hard Charger award with starting 23rd and finishing 12th.
Tim McCreadie debuted his new Rocket1 Racing ride to the World of Outlaws with a fifth place finish.
