Stricker Nabs First Career Late Model Victory with Late-Race Pass at Florence

(March 30, 2024) Florence, KY – Adam Stricker from Batavia, OH, had his big moment on Saturday, clinching his first-ever win in a Super Late Model at Florence Speedway’s $5,000 special event. He snatched the lead from Josh Rice and held on for the last four laps, leaving Rice settling for second place. Camaron Marlar slid into third as the checkered flag waved.

It was a race of ups and downs for many drivers. Josh Rice, the hometown favorite, led for most of the race before Stricker took over. Meanwhile, Connor Meade, who led briefly, saw his night cut short after a collision with Robby Hensley and Jared Bailey. The race was peppered with cautions, lasting 31 minutes in total.

Among the notable performances was Michael Chilton’s climb from 15th to 5th place.

Stricker’s victory was a team effort, with support from sponsors like Beeman Lumber, B&B Auto Care, and Valvoline. With this win, Strickler is now hot on the heels of Rice in the Florence track points standings.

27 cars were on hand. Josh Rice set the pace in qualifying with a time of 16.131 to be overall fast qualifier. Rice would go on to win the third heat race of the night with Josh Dietz and Connor Meade winning the first two heats.
