(July 5, 2024) Paducah, KY – Trent Young needed just eight minutes and one second to clinch the DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals Feature on Friday night at Paducah International Raceway. The 39-year-old from Crofton, KY, led all 25 laps, finishing over five seconds ahead of runner-up Cole Falloway, marking his third career Hell Tour victory. Notably, two of his three wins have been at Paducah, a track where his familiarity has given him a significant edge.
Young attributes his success at Paducah to the track’s unique challenges. “The speed, I think,” Young said when asked about his winning formula. “It’s fast and usually a little rough. You just have to back up and drive it. A lot of guys excel in the slick and smooth, but here, you have to get up on the wheel and go for it, and that suits me.”
Dominance from the Start
Starting on the pole after setting the Quick Time in his qualifying group and winning his heat race, Young established his dominance early. By the end of Lap 1, he had taken the lead and never looked back, securing his first Summit Modified win of 2024. “Starting on the pole was huge,” Young emphasized. “The speed makes it hard to pass because you’re going so fast.”
Young’s commanding performance at Paducah once again showcased his skill and familiarity with the track, making it a memorable night for the seasoned racer.
