(June 20, 2024) Lewistown, IL – Trevor Neville’s summer has been nothing short of remarkable. Having never won a DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals Feature before this season, Neville has now claimed two victories in less than a week, with his latest triumph coming on Thursday night at Spoon River Speedway.
Dominant Performance
Neville, from Mackinaw, IL, led all 25 laps of the race, showcasing his skill and determination. He successfully held off stiff competition from 2023 Summit Modified champion Tyler Nicely and current UMP Modified national points leader Mike McKinney.
“I’ve spent many hours watching these guys win races at this very track,” Neville said. “So, to hold off [Nicely and McKinney] on this Summer Nationals tour and get my first win here at Spoon River is magical. I can’t thank God enough for that one.”
Strategic Racing
Neville used the bottom lane to maintain his lead, despite it not being his preferred line.
“If I could’ve done what I wanted, I would’ve stayed on the [high] cushion for all 25 laps,” Neville said. “But I knew there was some moisture down there on the bottom, so I stuck with it.”
Upcoming Events
The Summit Modifieds will next compete at Brownstown Bullring on Friday, June 21, alongside the DIRTcar Summer Nationals Late Models. Tickets will be available at the gate, and fans can also stream the event live on DIRTVision.
