Tyler Stevens Claims Victory in Comp Cams Super Dirt Series at Poplar Bluff

(April 5, 2024) Poplar Bluff, MO – In a thrilling 35-lap showdown at Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park, Tyler Stevens of Searcy, Ark., showcased his racing prowess by regaining control of the lead on lap 27 and holding off his competitors to clinch his first victory of the season and a $5,000 payday. Losing the lead to Logan Martin early on, Stevens battled hard, ultimately emerging victorious with a 3.870-second lead over Martin at the finish line.

Reflecting on his win, Stevens shared, “It’s been a long week, we did a chop, cut, rebuild and it’s definitely paying off though. These races are hard to win, no matter where it’s at, Super Late Model racing is tough. Anytime you can get a win, it’s definitely top tier.” He credited his crew for their strategic guidance during the race, highlighting the challenges of adjusting to track conditions and maintaining control against tough competition.

Notable performances included Morgan Bagley’s impressive advancement of nine positions to secure a podium finish, and Oakley Johns’ solid run from 16th to seventh place.

Stevens, driving a Longhorn Chassis powered by a Mod Co Racing Engine, is sponsored by a range of supporters including Keith Hammett Trucking & Construction, D&D Well Services, and Hoosier Tire.

In the points chase after Poplar Bluff, Logan Martin leads the pack with 301 points, followed closely by Morgan Bagley with 280 points and Kyle Beard with 278 points.

Under clear skies and a cool 52°F temperature, the event had a strong turnout with 28 cars in the lineup. Dillon McCowan clinched fast qualifier, while Stevens secured the pole position winning heat race 1. B.J. Robinson, Hunter Rasdon, and Mason Oberkramer secured the remaining heat races.

The next series race is set for April 6 at Old No. 1 Speedway in Harrisburg, AR, offering another shot at a $5,000 prize and promising another night of exhilarating racing action.
