(April 13, 2024) Farmer City, IL – Bobby Pierce of Oakwood, IL emerged victorious in the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models Illini 100 event at Farmer City Raceway, leading 48 laps on his way to securing his first win of the 2024 season.
As the green flag waved, it was Chris Madden who initially led the pack, but a series of early cautions kept the field tightly bunched. However, once the race found its rhythm, Pierce quickly made his move, skillfully navigating the track’s multiple lanes to overtake Madden and seize control of the race.
Throughout the 60-lap feature, Pierce showcased his mastery of the quarter-mile track, deftly maneuvering through lapped traffic while fending off challenges from his competitors. His strategic decision to adjust his tires at the last minute proved pivotal, allowing him to maintain his grip on the lead and secure the victory.
Reflecting on his performance, Pierce credited his familiarity with the track and his team’s quick thinking for the win, emphasizing the importance of adapting to changing track conditions.
“I made a last-second call on the tires,” Pierce explained. “It just worked out for us, I loved to see the race go caution-free the rest of the way once we got going.”
While Pierce celebrated his triumph, others battled fiercely for position behind him. Nick Hoffman claimed second place, followed by Tyler Erb in third, with Kyle Bronson and Brandon Sheppard rounding out the top five.
For Sheppard, who faced early challenges in the race, the result served as a testament to the team’s resilience and determination to improve.
“At this point, it’s about making the qualifying and early night program better,” Sheppard remarked. “We gotta keep our heads up, keep the team pumped because nights like these are a testament to the team.”
Looking ahead, the World of Outlaws CASE Late Models series heads to Thunderhill Raceway in Tennessee, followed by two nights at the Talladega Short Track in Alabama. Fans can catch all the action live on DIRTVision.
