(April 12, 2024) Farmer City, IL – Ryan Timms, a 17-year-old rising star from Oklahoma City, OK, showcased his talent and determination as he clinched his first win of the season in the opening round of racing at Farmer City Raceway. Timms dominated the night, demonstrating his prowess by setting the fastest lap time in his Qualifying group, securing victory in his Heat Race from fourth position, and making a decisive pass for the lead in the Feature on Lap 10. From there, he led the rest of the way, solidifying his position as a contender in both the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota and the POWRi National Midget League.
Timms’ victory marks the fifth different winner in the first five races of the 2024 Xtreme Outlaw Series season. He joins the ranks of Thomas Meseraull, Cannon McIntosh, Karter Sarff, and Kale Drake as drivers who have tasted success in Victory Lane.
With this triumph, Timms significantly narrowed the points gap to only 17 points, gaining 30 points on the current leader, McIntosh. Chase McDermand also made strides in the standings, reducing his gap to McIntosh to 42 points, maintaining his position in third place.
