At just 14 years old, Braiden Haynes is already a force to be reckoned with on the racetrack. Hailing from Indianola, Mississippi, racing is more than a passion for Braiden- it’s in his blood. Starting his racing journey at the tender age of 10, Braiden has shown a natural talent behind the wheel that has led him to numerous victories, including back-to-back wins at the prestigious Gumbo Nationals in 2022 and 2023.
Currently racing in the Young Gun class at Greenville Speedway, Braiden has his sights set on moving up to the Factory Stock division once he secures the necessary parts later this year. Homeschooled to accommodate his demanding race schedule, Braiden finds joy in hobbies such as riding four-wheelers, playing video games (with World of Outlaws being a favorite), and of course, honing his skills on iRacing.
Braiden draws inspiration from his tight-knit family, including his Dad Paul Haynes, Mom Tara Lawrence, PawPaw Barry Tharp, GanGan Brenda Tharp, and his best friends/brothers Jace Lambert and Jeremy Dubois. With their unwavering support, Braiden is determined to climb the ranks in the racing world, setting his sights on becoming a wheelman at top-tier tracks like Greenville Speedway, Jackson Motor Speedway, Magnolia Motor Speedway, WhyNot Motorsports Park, Baton Rouge Raceway and Pine Ridge Speedway.
Looking ahead, Braiden envisions himself moving up in the Street Stock division with the next ten years, with a clear goal of becoming a skilled and respected wheelman in the next decade. With a motto “Go Fast and turn left!” Braiden serves as an inspiration to others, showing that the thrill of racing is best experienced from behind the wheel, even though it was way easier sitting in the stands. As he gears up for the upcoming race season, Braiden’s primary goal is simple yet profound- to be back where he belongs, in a dang race car, doing what he loves most.
